Sorry, kinda lazy to organize the stuff. The day began with lion dance, 2 lions came in, the picture above shows the lions in the hall, giving "prosperity and luck" to our exhibitions I guess.. haha
Here's a picture of the two lions at the courtyard, this is the stage we rented, the backdrop of "Just Blend It Up" was hand made and sprayed the night before. A crew of 45 people were working hard the night before to ensure everything was in place and working well.. Alot of decorations went into the day, took about 5 hours to get everything up and tidy.
Below are Indonesian dancers from some some school in KL, forgot the name of the school, didn't really get to catch a glimpse of the dance, just know that it was on..
The bamboo-like thingo is actually from another school who plays music with it, I heard it from afar, it was actually not bad, quite interesting the way they did everything..
These people are from a company in KL, they are actually a charity company named Mouth and Foot who write and draw pictures using their mouth and foot, 3 of them came for our exhibition, 1 of which flew down from Penang early that morning and flew back after lunch.. Their painting are actually quite amazing considering it's using feet or the mouth.. They were selling one painting for RM350, don't think anyone bought it.. hehe
Salsa dancing, who also performed for free, quite good, not sure why they didn't use the stage, guess they were afraid of falling down or something..
Yoga dancing too, was kinda odd to see only 1 yoga fellar on stage, but yeah..
The highlight performance of the day, 24 seasons drums, they were really really good.. but only 18 drums came since there wasn't enough space at the courtyard..
People were asked to sign and leave remarks about the event, overall, all the lecturers, students, and Taylors included were very happy with our event.. At the courtyard where we set up the booths, we overused the power that the electrical company could supply taylors, imagine, cause at the courtyard they had food stalls and all the stoves which took up alot of electricity.. We burn a fuse which cause a minor blackout, apologized to Taylors but Taylors was very happy that they didn't want any letter, and let us off the hook.
My MC for the day, is it emcee or MC, I'm guessing Emcee :P , French fellar, did quite a good job on that day, sang along to a few french songs..
This is the opening ceremony where things were a little chaotic..
Mouth and foot paintings..
A look at the booths in the hall.. the theme was culture, 18 booths in the hall, another 3-4 at the courtyard..Anyway, I'm off, France trip is later.. sorry for not reminding you guys, not really excited about it, still have alot of dissertation to do..
take care guys,
I'll be back on the 25th October..
2pm..
bye
Shamus
